This crumble tastes amazing on apples, pears or berries.  Pick the fruit that’s in season for the best flavor.  This recipe uses half the Soft-Baked Oatmeal Cookie Mix.  You can use the entire bag and double the other ingredients, if you’re serving a crowd.  It comes together so easily, it’s even perfect after a weeknight meal!

Apple Crumble

This crumble tastes amazing on apples, pears or berries. Pick the fruit that’s in season for the best flavor. This recipe uses half the Soft-Baked Oatmeal Cookie Mix. You can use the entire bag and double the other ingredients, if you’re serving a crowd. It comes together so easily, it’s even perfect after a weeknight meal!

Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 50 minutes

Servings 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 4
    large apples
    any kind (see note)
  • 1
    bag Soft-Baked Oatmeal Cookie Mix
  • 4
    Tbs.
    butter
    chilled and cut into small pieces
  • ½
    cup
    water
  • ½
    cup
    chopped walnuts
    optional
  • ½
    cup
    raisins
    optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).
  2. Grease a 1.5-quart baking dish with butter.
  3. Chop the apples into bite sized chunks and place in the greased baking dish.
  4. In a large bowl, place the mix and butter and stir together with your hands until a coarse meal forms.
  5. Stir in the water until the consistency of the mix is like a thick oatmeal.
  6. Fold in the nuts and raisins, if using.
  7. Sprinkle the mix on top of the apples.
  8. Bake 30 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
  10. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or another topping of choice

  11.  Store covered and in the fridge for up to three days.
